# ACL LIST

> Show users details in config file format.

Use `ACL LIST` to see every configured user together with their full rule set, formatted the same way a Redis ACL config file would describe them.

Each entry is a single string starting with `user <username>`, followed by its on/off flag, passwords, key patterns, channel patterns, and command permissions. This is the quickest way to audit every user's effective permissions at once; to inspect a single user as structured fields instead, use [`ACL GETUSER`](/docs/redis/commands/server/acl-getuser).

## Syntax

```redis theme={"system"}
ACL LIST
```

## Arguments

This command takes no arguments.

## Response

The reply reports the result of the operation. Error replies have the same shape in RESP2 and RESP3 and are surfaced as exceptions by the SDKs below.

| Protocol | Reply |
| - | - |
| RESP2 | Array of bulk strings |
| RESP3 | Array of bulk strings |

> [!NOTE]
>
> Client libraries often decode bulk strings, maps, sets, and numeric strings into language-native values. The table describes the Redis wire reply.

## Examples

TCP examples use the TLS `REDIS_URL` from the Upstash console. REST examples use `UPSTASH_REDIS_REST_URL` and `UPSTASH_REDIS_REST_TOKEN`.
